The 20 days comprehensive tour gives visitors a chance to experience Uganda to its fullest. Detailed Itenerary

Day 1: Transfer to Lake Mburo national park.

After having breakfast, the driver/guide will pick you from the hotel and embark on a transfer to south western direction of the country to Lake Mburo national park which is about 3-4 hours’ drive from the capital city Kampala. The first stopover will be at the equator crossing Kayabwe. The equator is a point which divides the earth into two equal parts, the north and southern spheres. After proceed to the park. Have lunch at the park in the lodge and enjoy the evening while sighting the park’s landscape and the vegetation.

Day 2: Game walk and boat cruise.

After having breakfast, go for a morning game walk which is commencing at Rwonyo tourism center at 7am. On this activity, the armed ranger accompanies the visitor and explores the park on foot. A wide range of wild dame is explored including Giraffes, water bucks, zebras, antelopes and many others on foot.

Walk in the savanna as you see the sun rising over, is another memorable experience. Return to the lodge for lunch. In the afternoon, go for a boat cruise on Lake Mburo. This activity will enable you view include the crocodile and many others plus birds.

Day 3: Transfer to Lake Bunyonyi.

After having a hearty breakfast, transfer to Lake Bunyonyi the second deepest lake in Africa and it is found in Kabale. You will go through a green country side landscape of south western Uganda. Arrive at the lake in the afternoon and have lunch then spend the whole evening at the lake enjoying the magnificent landscape of the lake.

Day 4: Boat cruise and zip lining in Lake Bunyonyi.

After having breakfast, go for the boat cruise on Lake Bunyonyi. The boat cruise will reward you with the sight of the different islands on the lake and other surrounding. Lunch will be at the lodge and in the afternoon enjoy the high rope activity and zip lining of which you will be challenged whereby the level are a bit hard but it will reward you a great experience. Dinner and overnight at the lodge.

Day 5: Transfer to Bwindi impenetrable National park.

Have breakfast and start you journey to Bwindi impenetrable national park, the home of endangered mountain gorillas. This park alone accommodates half of the mountain gorilla population in the world, with up to 12 fully habituated gorilla groups.

Dinner and overnight will be served at the lodge.

Day 6: Gorilla trekking in Bwindi impenetrable national park.

In the morning after having breakfast, you will go to the park headquarters for a briefing from the park rangers about the dos and don’ts while with the gorillas. Then start you trekking in the forest, the activity involves hiking through the thick forest searching for the gorillas. And when you meet them, you are only allowed to stay with the gorillas with only one hour then descend to the park headquarters then after to your lodge for refreshment and lunch. You will spend the evening at your lodge.

Day 7: Transfer to Queen Elizabeth national park.

Wake up and have breakfast, then transfer to Queen Elizabeth national park where you will go through Ishasha sector and get a chance to spot the climbing lions, which are only found in Uganda and Tanzania. The journey will reward you with attractive scenic landscape. You will check in at the lodge and have lunch and spend the entire evening rewinding at the lodge.

Day 8: Game drive and boat cruise.

Have an early cup of coffee before heading to a morning game drive along the queen’s mile plus the Kasenyi trail. And the game drive will enable you view wildlife like elephants, water bucks, lions, buffaloes, Uganda kobs, warthogs and many others and after the game drive, return to the lodge for breakfast plus lunch.

In the Afternoon, go for a boat cruise on Kazinga channel where you will encounter buffaloes, elephants, hippos, kobs and many others. Still on this boat cruise, you will get a chance to encounter array of birds. Dinner and overnight at the lodge.

Day 9: Transfer to Kibale national park.

After having breakfast, transfer to fort portal, the journey will take you through the impressive country side landscape with rural setting and local population. After having lunch, go for a Crater Lake hiking to gain impressive views of fort portal explosion craters.

After, visit the Amabere Ga’nyinamwiru caves with the magical Nyakasura river falling over them forming an incredible waterfall. Dinner and overnight at the lodge.

Day 10: Chimpanzee tracking and visit Bigodi wetland.

Have an early breakfast then head to the park headquarters for briefing then after you will enter the forest to start the chimpanzee tracking whiling following the guide. Kibale national park is among the best primate destinations in Africa especially chimpanzee tracking.

It accommodates a number of primates and other wildlife. The moment you meet the chimpanzee while tracking them, you are only given an hour to be with them. After tracking the chimpanzee, you will go back to your hotel for lunch.

In the afternoon, go for nature walk in Bigodi wetland where you will get a chance to encounter a number of bird species. Return to the lodge for dinner and overnight.

Day 11: Transfer to Murchison falls national park.

After having breakfast, transfer to Murchison falls national park and this scenic drive will take you through savannah grasslands and the rift valley scenery. The lunch en-route will be in Hoima and continue there-after with the journey through Budongo forest / Pakwach, arriving in the park in the evening. Dinner and overnight at the lodge.

Day 12: Game drive and boat cruise.

wake up have a very early morning coffee then head to a morning game drive where you will see some of the big five including lions, buffaloes, leopards, elephants. Antelopes, water bucks, Jackson hartebeest, jackals and giraffes are common sight. The morning game drive will give you a chance to spot the nocturnal animals and the hunters before they return to their hideouts as well as the early risers. After the game drive, you will head to the lodge for breakfast.

In the afternoon after lunch, you will go for the boat cruise on the Victoria Nile which is the high spot in this park to view lots of wildlife species at a close and clear range. Some of the wildlife that you will spot on a boat cruise include the school of hippos, elephants, buffaloes, antelopes and many other that come to drink water refreshing themselves off the scorching sun and also to enjoy fresh grass along the banks of the river in the afternoon however you will also spot reptiles like the Nile crocodiles and also a number of bird spices.

The boat goes to the base of Murchison falls and here you get a chance to see the lovely and powerful falls in the world. You can either choose to hike to the top of the falls or return to the lodge for dinner and overnight.

Day 13: Hot air balloon safari and top of the falls.

Early in the morning at dusk, head for hot air balloon safari in the northern side of Murchison falls national park. At the Paraa lodge all will assemble to start the journey to the starting point of your balloon ride. As the balloon is being assembled, a cup of coffee or tea will be offered to the guests then later the pilot will brief you, get on board and start the journey in the air balloon.

Imagine an experience of observing all these animals, the beautiful river, savannah trees and the sun rising, all from the above. The whole experience may take 45min to 1 hour exploring the park.  Return to the lodge after that for refreshment and lunch.

In the afternoon, go for another boat cruise to the base where water squeezes itself through a small gorge exploding to create what has been called the strongest waterfall on the earth. Then hike to the top of the falls for photo moments, and later retire to the lodge for dinner and overnight.

Day 14: Transfer to Kidepo valley national park.

After having breakfast in the morning, transfer to Kidepo valley national park, the journey that take between 10-12 hours. The whole journey goes through the Kitgum and later to this wonderful African gem.

The drive will continue through the open grasslands on the way from Murchison falls national park, and then to Gulu town for lunch stop over. Dinner and overnight will be served at the lodge.

Day 15: Game drive and cultural encounter.

After having breakfast, embark on an early morning game drive along Kidepo trails. Kidepo national park harbors a great diversity of wildlife species than any other park in Uganda. The park has 80 mammal species recorded and 28 are only found in this park.

The game drive enables travelers to meet the carnivore species such as caracal, cheetah, hunting dog, bat-eared fox, striped hyena, aardwolf and so much more. Other wildlife to encounter on a game drive include elephants, Burchell’s zebra, bush pigs, warthog, Rothschild giraffe, Cape buffalo, eland, Defassa water buck and others. Return to the lodge for refreshment and lunch.

In the afternoon, go for a cultural encounter of which you experience the life of Karamojongs, the local people living around the park. This activity exposes travelers to the unique traditional dances such as the Emuya of the Naporre, Apiti dances of the Acholi and many others.

Return to the lodge for dinner and overnight.

Day 16: Hike mount Morungole.

After having breakfast, go for a hike to mountain Morungole with the packed lunch. Where the native Karimojong are known to be flourishing. The native Karimojong are famously known to be the original inhabitants of the area before they were forced to the mountains by the coming of the pastoral groups.

The climb is rewarding as you will be fortunate to see the remarkable views of Karamoja plains and South Sudan Mountains as well as Turkana land in Kenya. After return to the lodge for dinner and overnight.

Day 17: Transfer to Sipi falls. En-route game drive in Pian-Upe game reserve.

After the breakfast, embark on transfer to Sipi falls from Kidepo valley national park in the eastern Uganda. On the way, you will enjoy a game drive in the famous Pian-Upe game reserve for the opportunity to sight more species of wildlife such as leopards, wildcats, primates, buffaloes and many others.

Later go to the lodge for lunch and retire the whole evening. Dinner and overnight at the lodge.

Day 18: Hike Sipi falls.

After having breakfast, embark on the hike to the Sipi falls. The hike is rewarding with impressive views of the calming water and landscapes including the farmland of the Bagisu. After the hike go back to the lodge for lunch and retire for the whole evening at the lodge. Dinner and overnight at the lodge.

Day 19: Transfer to Jinja and Bungee jumping.

Wake up for a hearty breakfast and then transfer to Jinja. The drive takes you through Busembatya and Iganga to Jinja and have lunch at the lodge and in the afternoon, go for a boat cruise on the mighty source of the Nile which is tranquil place dotted with beautiful tropical plants, palm trees and magnificent white roaring water of the might Nile.

The boat does not only reward you with incredible views of the fishermen throwing nets but also to the point where the might river Nile starts its wonderful long journey to the Mediterranean sea in Egypt. After that memorable experience, return to the lodge for dinner and overnight.

Day 20: Transfer to Kampala

After having breakfast, transfer to Kampala. The drive will take you through the small towns of Mukono, where you will encounter the Ssezibwa falls one of the famous Buganda heritage sites where many locals flock for blessings, wealth, and fortunes.

Have a stopover in Mabira forest to explore the only forest reserve in Uganda with over 300 bird species, primates and butterflies. Have lunch in Kampala then after be dropped at the hotel or the airport.
